So there is a coffee shop along my route home from the Bremerton ferry terminal. An actual cafe, not a McStarbucks queue-'em-up-and-spit-'em-out place. They have a small stage and do live shows as well.
This week, the marquee reads:
HARDCORE SHOW
DAY OF THE TENTACLE
MAY 8TH
Needless to say, I was a bit surprised by this. I mean, yes, the place is right across the street from the Navy shipyard, and we've all heard about sailors, but still, the part of town that mostly supplies those kinds of goods and services is down the road a piece.
So when I got home, I (not without some trepidation) Googled ["day of the tentacle" bremerton] and the first hit I got was this guy, who apparently has a hardcore punk band that plays small venues in the West Sound. I felt much better. (Though possibly just the slightest bit disappointed. The world could use more surreality.)
